03

My contribution

The pieces I directly worked on.

01

Built clause detection logic for identifying important policy sections.

02

Grouped detected clauses into user-friendly categories such as Data Collection, Billing, Legal Disputes, and Account Access.

03

Supported sentence-level highlighting so users could locate important clauses directly on the page.

04

Connected the extension to a Node/Express backend for secure AI-generated summaries.

05

Kept AI summarization on demand instead of making it part of the main detection pipeline.

06

Presented the project as a senior capstone and placed 3rd overall.

04

Engineering proof

A few decisions that show what was happening under the surface.

Decision 01

Separated parsing, detection, highlighting, popup display, settings, and backend responsibilities so each part was easier to debug and update.

Decision 02

Used rule-based detection for the main pipeline so results could be fast and predictable.

Decision 03

Kept AI summaries on demand only, which made the extension faster and avoided unnecessary API calls.

05

Results

The proof that the build came together.
